Finding the right fit for your unique shape

Do you have flat buns?

Obviously you want to wear jeans that enhance your bottom. Back pockets are a great way to accomplish this feat. Try flap pockets that don't sit too low on your backside. Colored stitching, designs, and fun embellishments on the back of jeans are a great way to create the look of a rounder bottom. Try a straight or tapered leg jeans, they fit snugly and will enhance your figure. You want jeans that will hug your natural curve.

Stay Away From: Loose fitting jeans, they will leave you with a saggy bottom and low set pockets will make your bum look flat.

Are you too booty-licious?

Jeans with small or no pockets are great for making your bum look smaller. Sticking to darker wash jeans are perfect for a slimming effect. If you want faded or bleached jeans find some that don't have this finish on the bottom. Boot cut or flare leg jeans are great for balancing your figure.

Stay Away From: Embellishments on the back pockets, they draw too much attention to your rear.

Are you a sweet petite?

The great thing about straight or skinny jeans is they give the illusion of legs that go on forever. Dark jeans are a wonderful way to make you look taller. Obviously your best bet is to find jean manufacturers who specialize in petite clothing, but if you have to go to a tailor ask for an "original hem" in order to keep this important design feature.

Stay Away From: Tapered legs, cuffed hems, and long jeans that you have to roll up.

Are you a tall model?

The upside is that almost any style of jeans will look great on you, the downside is finding them in your size. Basically you must look for jeans with a longer inseam, at least a 36". Jean manufacturers are making jeans longer & longer these days. Low rise jeans will look great on you.

Is your waist too short?

Low waist, low rise, or hipster jeans, with a rise of 7 1/2" or shorter, these will lengthen your torso. Low or long pockets will balance proportions. Long tops paired with skinny jeans are a great way to create the illusion of a longer waist.

Stay Away From: High waisted jeans.

Are you a little long in the waist?

High waist jeans are perfect for you, with a rise of at least 8 1/2", any jeans that sit above the natural waistline. Boot cut or wide leg jeans give the appearance of a shorter torso.

Stay Away From: Low rise/waist jeans

Are you a timeless hourglass shape?

Dark, clean wash jean are wonderful for your figure. Straight, boot cut, and wide leg jeans are perfect for balancing your figure. Look for jean manufacturers who specialize in hourglass figures, they will have jeans that are made for your shape.

Stay Away From: Too much fading or distressing, especially around the bum and thigh area, will widen your figure.

Are you an appetizing apple shape?

Look for jeans that are contoured on top, they are roomier through the hip and bum. A high waist jean is perfect for hiding the belly area. Dark, clean washes are perfect for you.

Stay Away From: Jeans that are too tight on the waist, they will leave you with an unappealing muffin top.

Are you a hippy?

Boot cut jeans will become your best friend; they balance your figure and make you appear slimmer overall. Flare leg  jeans are also great with the balancing act. Any jeans that are roomier in the hip area are great, wide leg or relaxed fit. Look for jeans with shorter cropped front pockets.

Stay Away From: Excessive pockets can make your hips look thicker. Jeans that are too tight will make you look too pear shaped.

Are you thick in the thigh area?

The best fit for your figure are straight, relaxed, or wide leg. These jeans will provide a roomier hip and thigh area. You want to look for jeans that are not too wide but are not too constricting.

Stay Away From: Jeans that are tapered at the bottom will put emphasis on your thighs
