Posted by Joanimal57. About 2 weeks ago we won 594 tested working 15" monitors on an Ebay auction. We contacted the seller, Alabama Disposal Group, of Birmingham Al. to arrange pickup. After talking with the owner, Andy Patellaro, who we later found out also calls himself Lindsey Bruner, we made arrangements to send our truck 1400 miles to load the pallets of monitors. Upon arriving Friday at 2:30PM at the address he gave our driver, he found himself at a run down building in a ghetto section of Birmingham. The person he met there said that his name was Lindsey Bruner and that "Andy" wasn't there and was on his way to Nashville, Tn. and also that he had no knowledge of any monitors that were scheduled for pickup. Needless to say our driver was quite upset and called our office. I told him to go outside and call the cell number that "Andy" had given him. It came as no surprise when he heard the the person's phone inside the warehouse start ringing. "Hello, is Andy there?" The reply was, "This is Andy. Can I help you?" "Yeah, you can load the 594 monitors I just drove 1400 miles to pick up." Andy turned white as our driver came back in and confronted him face to face while still carrying on their phone conversation. He took the driver on a tour of his nearly empty "EPA approved" disposal operation while explaining that the monitors were at his "other warehouse" 55 miles away in Rainbow City, AL., and he would make a call and arrange for them to be picked up there. He called someone and said he was sending in a truck for 600 monitors. (The extra 6 were a bonus for the inconvinience) After giving our driver directions, he quickly got into a black Chevy Suburban and vanished. Our driver arrived about 90 minutes later at the address given to him and went into the office to see what loading dock they wanted him to back into. Well, it seems they had nothing to do with Alabama Disposal Group, and they wanted cash or certified check before anything was to be loaded. They told the driver that "Andy" owed them $7,000. and that this wasn't the first time he'd scammed someone out of money or computer equipment. When asked who Lindsey Bruner was they said they never heard of him/her. It seems he is in the habit of spamming out container loads of equipment on different web-sites saying, "First wire-transfer gets it". Then after receiving multiple wire transfers, he disappears. He has since been thrown off Ebay. So we are out the monitors as well as our driver's pay and $1,000. in fuel. I want to make sure every person that deals in bulk computer equipment is aware of this person's activties. Ebay ID: computerlindsey Name: Andy Patellaro. Company: Alabama Computer Disposal Group Orto Madrid Blvd. Birmingham, AL. Be warned. Don't get screwed like I did. His ebay name: computerlindsey (no longer a registered user). If you need to know anything about this person please feel free to contact me through ebay. Thanks, Joanimal57.
