I've been a SCUBA Diver for years and have moderated the Dive-Arkansas mailing list (for divers living in, near, or traveling to the state of Arkansas) for over two years now. I travel allot and have tried lots of gear bags and can honestly say that this bag beats them all. After recently getting married and my wife becoming a diver (she is also a big-time hiker and world traveler during the summer months when she's not teaching) we decided that we needed a bag large enough for two complete sets of equipment plus some clothes and personal items yet still meet airline regulations for size and weight for checked bagage. This bag is Awesome with a capitol A! The large roller wheels are great for the airport terminal or the dive boat. The handle can be extended to two different lengths where it locks in place (great idea, no sliding back into the bag accidentally) as well as be hidden inside it's own zipper pocket (kepts sand out) when not in use or being use or when the Akona AKB144 is being uised as a backpack, yea, I said backpack...  Out of a special zippered pocket on the back they have hidden two heavily padded backpack straps for when you can't roll it.  I thought that I'd never use them but actually found that dispite it's size and being loaded with two complete sets of gear, plus my laptop and some extra items, I could easily carry it on my back for thouse short jaunts when you need to get someplace that's just too rough for even the large wheels to go such as hiking down a small mountain to a crystal pool. The large center compartment holds two BCD's, four sets of dive boots (two tropical cut, two for colder water), two pair of gloves, two wetsuits, two large beach towels, each of out regulator/octo setups (wraped in the beach towels), two D cell dive lights + the 4AA LED mini lights mounted on each BCD, dive knives, two mesh bags, two dive mask each in a protective case, and our dive cameras in their own cases slid neatly in the top corners after everything else was in. There are pockets on the outside on either side for two sets of fins, even my Cressi Sub Rodine A's fit in with no problem as did my wifes Tusa X-Pert Zoom Split Fins which are a bit wide yet still fit perfectly. In the top outside pocket we had the dive computers each in a case that came with the AKB144, in the bottom large pocket I had my Sony VIAO PGC-64 laptop computer... this is normally where the octos go in a padded regulator case that comes with the AKB144 but it fiit my laptop perfectly while inside of it's own case, though I remove it when flying and take it with me as carry-on luggage this pocket is great for not having to carry it seperatly when not on a plane. We also had a couple of changes of clothing each inside with all of the other stuff, though it was admitedly fairly light summer-type clothes, shorts, etc. and I think one pair of jeans each.  The AKB144 comes with SEVERAL padded cases of various sizes that fit inside of it to put things in and help protect things like dive computers and regulator/octos. It also has several clips and straps to help hold things in place both inside the large central compartment but also the smaller pockets. It also has a flat pocket that is closed with velcro on the outside of the larger of the front pockets, this just seemed to be meant for paperwork and handle even 8x10 papers flat without the need to fold them and you can quickly access travel documents, log-books, etc. from this pocket. My wife even found the mesh pocket on the outside front that holds a water bottle (which comes with the case) to be handy as she's a continuous water sipper, I found a 20 once or 1 litre size bottle of cola also fits there nicely, though she looked at me funny. AKB144 case was $165 with free shipping from an eBay retailer and compares easily, even beats MOST of the more expensive "name brand" cases that I've seen and used that cost 2-5 times the price. We were both VERY impressed.
