There are many reasons why your item did not sell, or didn't sell for as much as you have seen others sell for. I have decided to write a series of guides to help the new (and maybe some not-so-new) sellers.
This guide will focus on the feedback. Just as my other guides will tell you - think like a buyer!
While it may not seem fair at the moment, I'm sure you can understand that people are hesitant to buy from no or low feedback sellers. Ebay is not like a mall where when a new store opens, everyone rushes to it so see whats new. Buyers have to be very careful, and part of being careful is checking your track record.
When you first start selling it is a good idea to focus on smaller, less expensive items. Once people see that you have sold a few things without problems, they will be more likely to bid on higher end items.
Some people will tell you that buying is a good way to pump up your feedback. While that may be true as far as your numbers go, most buyers will check to see what kind of feedback you have received as a seller. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't buy - buying is an excellent way to see things from the other side. Buying will help you realize what your potential customers expect of you as a seller.
Patience is key. If you have a few of the same item, sell one. After you receive feedback for that one, then sell the other one. When a buyer can see you sold one before and that customer was happy, they will be comfortable bidding more.
Thanks for viewing my guide. Please take a second to vote YES if you feel this is helpful information.
