I have been reselling used and new laptops and desktops for a long
time. Most of the time I get to compare the products side by side. The
only difference that I see on desktops for instance are the dents or
scratches on the side. While the new one's are on a box sealed with no
dents or scratches.
These days, you need to be practical in what you buy. If you buy a dell desktop with a crapy Celeron or even P4 2.4Ghz 80GB hard drive and 256MB, compare it with a used desktop for almost identical price or even a little bit more and you get a Sony Desktop with Pentium 4 3.2GHz Hyperthread, 512MB RAM, DVD Burner, DVD player, TV Tuner, 128MB Video Card and 250GB Hard drive with 72000 RPM.
If you are practical and you want something that's powerful and at the same time below $500, which of the 2 would you buy?
