Nortel BCM Advanced Features

  • Voice Messaging Seats - There are 3 major abilities the BCM's CallPilot utilizes: Automated Attendant, Mailboxes, and Custom Call Routing (CCR Trees). Many businesses dont realize the advantage of having an Automated Attedant that can get customers where they need to go, without being on hold while the receptionist juggles 10 calls at once. Even if you believe in Live Operators and can never give in to a fully automated system, you can still have it pick up calls after hours.

  • Unified Messaging - What could be more enjoyable than getting your voicemail into your email inbox? Now users can listen to messages and forward them; without having to pick up the handset and call the systems voicemail to check their messages. The Nortel BCM supports; Microsoft Outlook, Netscape Messenger, Lotus Notes, Qualcomm Eudora Pro and Novell GroupWise.

  • Call Center Basic - This enables the BCM to have a maximum of 20 configured agents (10 Active Agents) and 2 Queues.

  • Call Center Professional - This enables the BCM to have a maximum of 250 configured agents (80 Active Agents), 50 Queues, 20 Agent Priorities, 100 Lines, 20 Overflow Rules, plus many more.

  • Multimedia Call Center - This enriches customer care with capabilities as Intelligent Routing of Electronic Interactions, Merging of Voice Calls with emails, Pushed Web Content, Collaborative Web Browsing, Web-based self service and real time text chat sessions bewteen customers and agents.

  • VoIP Gateways - A VoIP Gateway will connect multiple BCM locations through your LAN infrastructure. The VoIP Gateway is treated as a trunk and uses the trunking and routing functionality of the BCM product portfolio. 4 Digit Dialing between sites is no longer a problem!

  •  IP Clients - This enables the user to pretty much take a i2007 or i2004anywhere there is a internet connection.

  • Fax Messaging - Allows the user to receive, send and forward faxes in the same way unified messaging does with voicemail.

     
  • VPIM & AMIS Message Networking - Voice Profile for Internet Mail VPIM - it provides Digital Message Networking in a BCM-only network and a Norstar Messaging System. VPIM is a message networking specification that allows voice and fax messaging across differant vendors voicemail systems over the internet. The most important benfit of VPIM is that messaging over an IP Network Internet Connection means the messages are sent at no cost to the sender.
    Audio Messaging Interchange Specification AMIS -
    is the industry standard specification for an analog networking scheme that allows different messaging systems to network voice messages over the Public Telephone Network. There are a couple shortcomings with AMIS: AMIS is Analog and uses a Public Network which will deteriate the quality of the initial message everytime it hops to get to the destination, and because messages are transported over the public network; they incur Toll Charges each time they are sent outside of the systems LATA.

  • Interactive Voice Response - Automates routine, information-based transactions, such as inquiries about store hours or pending orders. While your business saves money, customers really appreciate self-service access to pertinent information, anytime of the day or night.

  • LAN CTE - Computer Telephony Integration enables you to use Third-Party, PC-based applications to control telephone services, such as a Click-To-Call company directory or automatic screen pops of a customers account information as well as the call.
