Did you know that it's easy to decorate your home with items that are uniquely you?  You can add paintings, pillows, home furnishings, rugs etc. to your home that incorporate parts of your personality or say something about you or your family.  How do you do this well as with most things out there the internet has the solution.  From big companies to sellers you meet via E-bay there is a wealth of opportunities to have items custom designed to fit you and your home's decor. 

Take me for example I operate a design studio as part of my business Haycross Hollow, which I call Studio Haycross.  As part of my personal and business marketing plan E-bay fits in nicely and I've met some great people who now have piece of my artwork in there homes.  For one of my customers I was able to do a larger scale custom painting after she had bid on several of my listings, it was unique to her and what her needs were for the decor of her daughters room. Most artists will be glad to do custom work for you, custom portraits, paintings of your home, pets, or something to match specific colors. 

 I know one artist who specializes in painting peoples auras, from a photograph she then paints the person as see feel their spirit to be within them.  Many cities feature craft galleries and malls where numerous artists and crafts people have their works on display, our area is home to a couple of these with which I am involved.  Our local craft mall has a request list for items people want but cannot find.  I have on several occassions done custom work and designs for individuals looking for something that previously did not exsist until I created it for them.  So you're local artist, or even an art student looking for work to get established is a good source for very unique designs just for you.

There are places on the internet as well where you can get creative yourself and then have a piece of art produced based on your creativitiy. A site called Photofiddle is one. At photofiddle you can take a photo apply different effects and then have a large canvas creation made just for you to hang on the wall.  I think most people are familiar with Andy Warhol's silkscreened images of Marilyn Monroe, you can do the same thing with your photo on this site.  Other creative sites like Zazzle.com or CafePress.com allow you to create a variety of items ranging from coffee mugs, mouse pads, clothing, pillows and more from your photos and creations.

Take some of your childrens old artwork and have it scanned then have it immortilized on a coffee mug or tee-shirt.  Many digital photo printing websites can also make custom items as well as some of the big retailers websites that offer photofinishing.  If your creative like me there are numerous projects you can do using digital photos, and a wealth of digital editing software to take even the dullest photo and turn it into something interesting.
