So you've sold an item, collected payment for it and are preparing to ship it out, but wait! Dont miss an opportunity to create an lasting impression in the mind of your customer!
A small piece of candy, coupon or gift certificate or anything that advertises your eBay business makes for an excellent gift. It's also great to order pens, small notepads, calendars, magnets, thank you cards, or anything personalized with your eBay log or name to include with each customer's order. Make sure it's not heavy enough to affect or add to the shipping cost of their order. What a memorable way to show your appreciation and say "Thanks!" to the customer.
Microsoft Office Online has several great templates for Gift Certificates and Coupons you can customize yourself and make your own. I usually send each customer a Coupon that entitles them to receive free shipping on one item of their choice next time they shop my store or a "Buy two items and get free shipping on one of them" coupon. Make sure to include an expiration date and a special coupon code that they must mention to apply their special discount when it's time for them to check out. This is also a clever way to generate repeat business and encourage customers to shop with you again.
You can also take advantage of the packing slip or receipt you include with the order and remind the customer to sing up to receive your newsletter or add you to thier list of favorite sellers.
A little something extra goes a long way and as a result, increases your sales and profit!
