AVON
McConnell's Corners
This is one of the nicest collections that AVON ever made.
There are a grand total of four pieces to this 1982 set.
Each piece is packed in a thick cardboard box and protected with foam packs. Included is the wording of the box lid. The top part of the store (the green roof) is removable for inside storage if you like. I recommend that you put a sticky-backed felt strip on the inside edges of the lid to help prevent direct contact with the base. These are ceramic and an accidental hard contact could result in a chip. If your store or roof is damaged, do not worry or throw away the surviving piece. Individual pieces are offered from time to time.
Considering the beauty of the set and the prices that these have been selling for lately, this is one of the best bargains on ebay for AVON Christmas collectibles. The trees all by themselves are excellent accents and can be used anywhere in your home.

This could have been one of AVON's finest larger collectible sets if they would have added additional pieces. I waited for years thinking "They will come next year!" to no avail. AVON!! If you are out there, please bring this set back to life. At least add a father in a sleigh coming for his wife and child who have been standing out in the snow for the last 26 years!
Actually, this is a very subtle and high class tribute to David Hall McConnell's California Perfume Company located inside a general store that was the birthplace of AVON, and, to Mrs Persis F.E. Albee (1836-1914), the first AVON representative. Mr McConnell was a book salesman that created a perfume as a sideline. Pretty soon the perfume outsold the books. The one-item perfume business that became AVON.
I am not a dealer and I do not sell.
