Selling your item on Ebay for the best price starts with writing a good title for the auction ad.
A good title contains good KEYWORDS.
Most potential buyers will find your auction by doing a keyword search for the item they are looking for rather than browsing the category it is listed in.
Keywords are what brings buyers to your auction !
Since Ebay changed the way the search works ( best match ) we all must make sure to use the
auction title as one of the most powerful tools to make our listings being shown to potential customers.
It is important that the title contains all keywords that apply to your item.
Most buyers will only type 2 - 4 keywords related to the item they are looking for into the search field.
It is very important that you get those keywords right !
For example , if a buyer is looking to buy a new pair of Black Men`s Levi`s 501 jeans waist size 32 , inseam 30 , and you are selling one, your title should contain targeted information about the pair of jeans you are selling so that your pair of jeans will be shown to the buyer in the search results.
In this example a potential buyer will most likely search for " New Black Levi`s 501 32 30 ".
Therefor a title like " New Black Levi`s 501 Jeans Men`s size 32 x 30 " has the keywords a buyer may search for in it.
Having all the right keywords in your auction title will bring up your auction when a potential buyer searches for Black Jeans , Black Levi`s Jeans , Levi`s Jeans , Men`s Jeans , Jeans size 32 x 30 etc.
A title like " AWESOME LEVI`S WITH BUTTON FLY LOOK !! " will NOT get the buyer to look at your auction and is a total waiste of keywords !
Focus on the relevant keywords for your product and use as many of them in the auction title as possible !
Include Brand , Model , Color , Size rather than waisting the keywords by using phrases like AWESOME , GREAT , WOW , LOOK , MUST SEE / HAVE etc !
Nobody will search for those phrases !!
Avoid using keywords that are NOT relevant or related to your item and that may confuse the potential buyer!
Do not use (e.g.) PSP in your title when NOT selling a Playstation PSP !
This is considered KEYWORD SPAMMING and Ebay can (and will if they see it or someone reports your listing to Ebay) remove your listing for it !
If you are listing an item that requires the use of more keywords than the available space in the title offers it is a good idea to spend the additional 50 cent and use the subtitle for the additional keywords.
Hope this will help you to write a successful title for your next listing on Ebay and to bring in more bids for you.
