Hi All, recently I have noticed that the energizer batteries (357) for the older style insulin pumps that carry the name Minimed have been selling for an outrageous price. These batteries can be purchase at Walmart for < $6.00 and last on average about 4 weeks. I spoke to a sales person that was no longer with Minimed and the reason they charged a premium for the batteries was for insurance purposes. The batteries when ordered from Minimed was listed as a power supply, this allowed Minimed to bill the insurance company and receive 100% reimbursement. I have purchased the Energizer 357's on Ebay and they work just fine, might not last quite as long but definitely not worth the premium of having MiniMed on the packaging.

I hope this helps
