I recently sold an item on eBay and the buyer never asked any questions
before bidding. After receiving the item, which was exactly as
described, he decided the manufacture date was of key importance to
him. He'd never asked about it beforehand but once he got the item, he
determined that he didn't want it anymore. That is not the way eBay
works. All questions should be asked before
the close of the auction. They should be answered quickly and honestly
in every case by the seller. However, if a buyer doesn't ask about a
specific aspect of an item's age, appearance, condition, etc., after
receiving it is too late, unless there were attributes in the listing
that were untrue or misrepresentative.
In addition, when you buy an item and don't like it, it is morally bankrupt to file a "non-receipt" claim to get your money back. I had a situation where the buyer filed such a claim even though they did receive the item. They said they would return the item to me but never did. So, they kept the item and got their money back.
It is recommended that you are fair in all business transactions on eBay, even if a circumstance provides you with the chance to cheat someone.
See you on the high road!!
