Color usage can be rewarding and even help promote healing if you're sick. Did you know painting the room of someone who's ill a soft pale green can actually speed their recovery? Apricot makes a fantastic backdrop for any color skin complexion. Bright Yellow can provoke and irritate people when they're exposed to too much of it for prolonged periods of time. Because of this, bright yellow won't be the best color for your baby's room or for a room two or more children share.
Typically, we'll pick colors based on what we think will look good in a particular room, what we like, some vague feeling or general preference.

Of all colors, blue is most likely to produce the lowest pulse rate, blood pressure, respiration, heart rate, and eye blink frequency. If blue is overused it can be cold and depressing.
