Hello to all in the treasure hunting realm of eBay!!  Your queen has been on an extended buying trip but I am back and filled to the gills with exciting and marvelous discoveries to share with you all!!   I have spent the summer traveling our fair country and perusing every possible nook and cranny from elite antique shoppes on Beacon Street in Boston to tiny mom & pop discount stores in Denver to bring you a wide assortment of collectibles and antiques of every description.

Seeing how I will be spending my royal time the next few weeks taking pictures of my new acquisitions, researching their histories and getting the listings up and running, I decided to take a moment to update all my faithful subjects here in the land of Trash or Treasures on using some new adjectives and replacing the tired old faithfuls that we all love to use.

I will be discussing two different types of keywords for your listings.  One is for the real antiques in your inventory and the other is for the mid-century or modern inventory items.  We will call them Vintage Adjectives and Kitschy Adjectives.  These are provided by me straight from the mouth of Daniel Webster, okay I'm not that old, straight from my trusty Thesaurus.com and please feel free to print out these for handy references later on while you are listing your items.

VINTAGE ADJECTIVES:

Vintage  -  old-fashioned, outdated, outmoded

Synonyms:  ancient, antiquated, antique, archaic, bygone, corny, dated, dead, disapproved, disused, dowdy, de'mode', extinct, dusty, moldy, musty, neglected, not current, not modern, obsolescent, odd, of old, old hat, old fashioned, old-time, olden, oldfangled, out, out-of-date, out-of-style, outdated, outmoded, outworn, passe', past, primitive, rococo, unfashionable, unstylish

KITSCHY ADJECTIVES:

Kitschy  -  garish, gaudy

Synonyms:  blatant, brassy, brazen, brummagem, catchpenny, cheap, chichi, chintzy, coarse, crude, flashy, flaunting, florid, frou-frou, garish, gaudy, gay, gewgaw, glaring, gross, gussied up, jazzy, kitschy, loud, obtrusive, ornate, ostentatious, overdone, overwrought, pizzazz, pretentious, raffish, ritzy, screaming, showy, snazzy, splashy, splendiferous, tasteless, tawdry, tinsel, vulgar

And there you have them.  Please feel free to send more to me if you can think of any others to add.  I will be looking forward to seeing all the new descriptive listings coming up in the next few weeks.  Enough of the English language lesson for now.  I'm off to more lofty royal duties....anyone know of something snazzy you can do with Hamburger Helper??!!
