In flourescent and daylight it apprears green to blue-green, in incandescent, candlelight or warm indoor lighting, it's raspberry-red to red. It may also be found in blue & brownish- green shades.

Also,when shopping for Alexandrite, remember there's a significant difference between Lab Created / Lab Grown and..... Imitation.
Imitation Alexandrite is made from synthetic Corundum. It does not have the same Chemical Composition and properties. Imitation Gemstones' color - changing characterisitics are inferior as well.
