After Care For Your New Body Piercing
After Care for Non-Mouth Piercings:
(This includes lips, such as labrets, monroes, medusas, etc.)
We suggest you choose a mild, pH balanced cleanser, like a castile, glycerin soap.
After Care:
Use a mild, PH–balanced soap, preferably one without moisturizers or chemicals. Glycerin & Oatmeal soaps do very well.
* Be sure to clean your hands thoroughly before cleaning or touching your body piercing.
* Twice daily, clean your piercing with your choice of soap, using a Q-tip or finger. Gently work the soap inside the hole by sliding the jewelry back and forth in the hole.
* Be sure to rinse well with plenty of warm water.
* You can also use saline solution, or sea salt and water, to help sooth and heal the piercing.
Saline or Sea Salt Soaks:
By soaking your piercing for several minutes each day, will speed the healing process, and the soak will make both you and your piercing more comfortable.
Ratio of Sea Salt in Water: Use 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt mixed well in 1 Cup of warm water. Increase or decrease this ratio as needed.
DO NOT USE:
- Rubbing Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide
- Lotions or Moisturizers.
- Triple - Antibiotic Ointment/ Ear Care
- Antibacterial Soaps (These will irritate your new piercing!)
ALSO:
* DO NOT use hot tubs or whirlpool baths.
* DO NOT apply gauze or bandages
* DO NOT use chlorinated pools for at least 2 weeks, or until the edges of the piercing scab over completely).
