ATC - Artist Trading Card

ACEO - Art Card Editions & Originals

Artist Trading Card is an individual art miniature which was originally meant for self promotion or trading purposes among artists.

Originally, offered in several sizes and today the standard size for these cards is 2.5" by 3.5" (similar to a baseball card).  These cards can be traced back to many historical eras especially to the Impressionistic era.

Today, ATC are created on cards, canvas, sketching, collage, metal, glass, plastic & other materials.  The artists usually sign and date each piece and generally keep each ATC unique or create limited additions of each piece.  You will probably be able to find many different ATC done in pencil, oil, acryic, watercolor, airburush, digital art, etc.

ACEO is basically a spin-off which evolved from the original ATC movement when some artists began to sell these cards after they recognized a great demand by the general public.

One of the best things about ATC or ACEO is that they are pocket size.  You don't necessarily need to stretch or frame them and can easily hung these in small spaces.  You may also decide to place them in your albums or even trade with your friends.
