ACCENT THE POSITIVE: What not to say in an auction
Accenting the positive and deemphasizing the negative is a line from a very old song that is still timely today.
Never say anything negative in an auction. IE - don't say you are going to leave negative feedback if the buyer doesn't pay. The majority of buyers DO pay and will resent the inference that everyone is not going to pay. So leave it out. The nonpayer will find out soon enough what you plan to do if they don't pay so keep it out of the auction listing.
Along that same line don't talk about past transactions that went awry.
It is also not a good idea to talk about your personal disabilities and maladies in an auction. Folks will think you are looking for a pity bid. Most buyers hit the back button when they see those. For example, I am disabled but you would never know it from what I have written in my auctions.
In short, don't add anything to your auction that will turn buyers off.
Good luck with your selling on eBay!
