That counterfeit Forked Lake short color left was not retailed by A&F - the nearest color match on the right - both the same authentic color

** Compare the color of the short, the color of the belt, the color of the waist button, the color of the waist button attaching thread, & the color ot the A&F label **

** Also notice the belt stitching on the counterfeit short & then compare with the stitching of the authentic A&F belts at the bottom of this guide **

I personally shot the 2 A&F Forked Lake short pictures on the right with camera flash & in the sun attempting to duplicate the lighting in the counterfeit picture

If a stock A&F photo is used on an ebay auction ask the seller to upload pictures to the auction of the actual short for sale

A&F vintage shorts are manufactured in China & India

The vintage Abercrombie wash uses pumice stones which create subtle nicking & grinding OR a faded distressed worn look on exposed short surfaces

If the A&F shorts were purchased in an A&F store the price tag will have the retail price printed on the tag

A&F clothing smells of A&F Fierce cologne & at 20 yards you unmistakenly smell the permeated A&F store in the mall playing loud music

A&F short hardware including metal waist & fly buttons have the antiqued look, not a shiney new metal look

 Waist buttons use dark thread to fasten the antiqued metal buttons, not the same color of thread as the short

Vintage A&F shorts with plastic buttons will have colorless Abercrombie & Fitch stamped on the buttons; the same color as the button

The plastic buttons usually have the same color thread as the button, seldom white thread is used with the plastic buttons

A&F vintage shorts that come with a belt have a tag on the belt with the size corresponding to the size of the short ( size 28, 28 printed on the belt tag )
