A transparent or semi-transparent glaze will show off your impressed designs most clearly. but that may not be the effect your after.  If you have a raised texture surface you may like the look of a semi-opaque covering, esp an art type glaze that breaks over edges.

Here are samples of some transparent glazed pieces. A combination of impressed edge and raised edge designs.

As you can see the glaze pools in the crevices of the impressed areas making a darker color, whereas it breaks over the raised edge design making a much lighter color.  A semi opaque glaze will give a more even color to your texture and an opaque may completely hide your textured decoration.

So called art glazes usually break over raised edges and help show off decorative edges.

A nice effect with impressed texture is to wipe an underglaze into the impression and sponge off the excess when it dries, use a clear glaze over.
Looks like a stamped image.

Make some test pieces with your stamps to see what the final look will be with your desired glaze.
