Yes, girl, you can have it all! If I had only know about Ebay when I got married 2 years ago!!!
For me, one of the most important things about the Big Day -besides the groom, of course!- was the dress. I needed one that'd make me look like a princess and at the same time, knock the socks off my fiance and be the envy of my evil cousins LOL Anyways, I went to the bridal shop, pay full retail for my gown and had a beautiful wedding (for a not so beautiful amount of $$$$).
But after a year or so, when somebody told me about Ebay, I started browsing the site and found a whole section dedicated to wedding apparel. Oh my, I almost fainted when I realized that I could have had the same designer gown for a tiny fraction of the cost! It made me so mad knowing all the money I'd have save. That's when I decided to put my dress for sale, that way I could get at least part of my expenses back (instead of having it in my closet getting yellow) and at the same time let somebody else enjoy feeling like royalty in that special day for almost nothing (yes, i have a heart too LOL)
So, yes, with Ebay, you can have it all! Here are some tips ) to win the auctions; they apply to any item you wanna shop for in this wonderful site, from that dream wedding gown, tiara, veil and fancy shoes to the flip-flops and swimsuit to walk the white Cancun beaches or the coat, scarf and gloves to be cozy and warm, hand to hand with the love of your life in Paris and Rome :)
*Wait until the last minute (literally) to bid. I usually enter my maximum bid when there are 30 or 40 seconds left. I've won 95% of the auctions that way.
* Look for auctions ending during the week around noon (mondays and wednesdays are the best days to win for some reason), or in the weekends early in the morning.
*Always contact the seller to see if you can negotiate shipping charges. Those flat rate priority mail boxes from USPS work wonders. The seller can combine shipping without losing money (you stuff those boxes and they charge you the same regardless of weight) and sell more items, and the buyer saves tons on shipping buying from the same person.
Well, that's my two cents worth of advice =) Hope you have a wonderfull day!
Sincerely,
Happily Married (and #1 Ebay fan) in Georgia
