Book buyers have asked, 'Why doesn't someone have a list of expensive books that look like nothing?'
Well someone has made that list of the hottest selling books on eBay that look like nothing, here it is:
Seems like everyone wants to judge a book by its cover... most booksellers pass over buying used books because they are plain looking, thinking they won't sell yet here's a list of those that are hot selling so you can buy for little and sell for alot. Here's a list of such books for you to print and take with you when you go shopping at garage sales and wherever you go to buy books.
If you would like to have a list of the most recently discovered books that look like nothing but have recently been sold on eBay for a pretty penny, over 20 dollars or more, you've come to the right place. For months now i've kept an index up-to-date of those most recently discovered books posted here on eBay in the Community Discussion Board for Booksellers and you can have full access to that list for free... and print a current copy anytime you'd like.
A Book that Looks like Nothing
When you go the Community section of eBay, click Discussion Boards, then click Booksellers, then near the top of your eBay screen of the Bookseller discussion board is where you want to go to... upon arriving you'll see a thread listed at the top of the board for the thread titled 'A Book that Looks like Nothing' which has been permanently anchored at the top so it will be in the same spot the next time you come back for a visit... and just click it to enter the lenghty discussion.
This discussion list is for when someone finds a book that looks like nothing but when it has been sold for alot of money on eBay they will post here to let all readers of the list know the title, author, date of publication and how much the book sold for.
You'll find that i've been making an index for this thread and it is pasted at the top of each of the last twelve pages of the long pages that make up the discussion.
A few things worth noting...
Just because the book is on the list does not always mean every copy of it is worth alot... most times it is the first edition or earliest ones worth the most... your best bet is to look up the posting to find out what the original poster had to say about the book in question. If there's no reference number to the numbered posting on the book then put the title of the book into the search box for the bookseller discussion board and all references to the posting will pop up and you can click it to read the original posting... a few only referenced the auction number and after 90 days the link went dead.
The thread listed above is NOT the place for someone to ask what a book is worth or to post observations of what the weather is like today... it is ONLY for posting the finding of a treasure worth a considerable sum of money. Hundreds of eBayers have saved this discussion on their list of threads being watched so they get an e-mail as soon as someone posts finding a treasure so they don't want to be bothered by the few with a whole lot of time on their hands who enjoy posting nonsense on threads, they only want the facts... like Jack Webb of Dragnet fame often said, 'Only the facts, ma'am.'
If someone has a legitimate question of what their book is worth the Bookseller discussion board is the place to ask that question of the bookseller community on a seperate thread... and many will probably reply offering you their advice, they are a great group to work with.
You can copy the entire list anytime you'd like and bring a copy with you when you go book buying.
Has something of major concern been left out of this guide?
Since i know i haven't thought of everything... please let me know if i've overlooked something you consider to be important and worthy of inclusion and i'll be happy to add it and give you full credit for the idea with your eBay name if you'd like or if you'd prefer i'll just mention your first name. Your questions, comments and observations are always welcome and i'm only an e-mail away... please use the Contact Member button to reach me.
Happy hunting on eBay
