A big issue with fake guitars has been growing on Ebay.
The majority of these fake guitars have been coming out of
China and Vietnam .
The most common copied brands are:
Gibson / Les Paul (standard and custom), SG, Flying V, Fender
Stratocaster and Telecaster, and PRS and hand made.
Also, please don't be fooled by them being popular guitars such as 7
string, 12 string, 5 string bass, acoustic electric, and/or hollow body
/ semi hollowbody guitars/ solid body.
Here are a few ways that you can spot them out:
The listing is from China or Vietnam.
They give % discounts in shipping for larger purchases
They have many of the same listing over and over again with the same
pictures from different sellers.
They are very broad about the guitar you are purchasing. They have
private bidders no feedback (they do this so you don't see negitive)
They have ridiculously low selling prices. Don't be fooled by them
being verified, a powerseller, and or having an about me page!
Nine times out of ten, the guitar is in the wrong category
Poor English is a dead giveaway of a scammer (example: very fashionable
beautiful guitar gibson and, fair sounding music instrument martin
guitar, are 100% scams) 99% of the time they quote huge shipping
prices in British Pounds aka GBP and US Dollars.
The scammers have been trying new tactics to completely scam people
like you. NEVER purchase from an international seller which refers you
to buy from their website (they do this to kill the negative feedback
they receive to scam as many people as possible under once account
before getting kicked off)
They like to bate and switch also, showing you a good guitar and
shipping you one that is trash and can not even be played.

( These guys will tell you anything but the truth. I bought about ten guitars and several of their back plates. Half the guitars are trash and their back covers don't fit. Most of the ones I got were split and only two of them were usable! They are anything but honest.)
