It is so important to know the difference between a real eBay & Paypal email or a spoof, a fake email, from persons trying to get their hands on your sensitive information; PERSONAL & BANKING!

I remember when i first started here on eBay i would gets so many emails in my inbox that i tried to respond to myself that were come to find out fakes, what eBay refers to spoof emails (a term which you will become familiar). I didn't realize that persons were decieving me, they are like professionsals, trying to retrieve my personal & banking information. It is TERRIBLE! Now i knoe better & would like to share my experience with newcommers so they do not fall victim to this disception themselves.

SPOOF/FAKE EMAILS: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER have your real, whole name will have either "eBay member" or "eBay community member" or your email address as THE HEADER.

GENUINE eBay & Paypal Emails: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have your FULL NAME, your REAL name.

Any email that you recieve from eBay will be in your inbox in your eBay in the messages section.

THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES IT TAKES A WHILE LONGER TO REACH YOUR MESSAGES RATHER THAN GETTING TO YOUR EMAIL FIRST SO IF YOU ARE UNSURE FOR ANY REASON WAIT A LITTLE BIT TO SEE IF THAT PARTICULAR EMAIL ENDS UP IN YOUR MESSAGES INBOX.

An email from Paypal will always be sent to your email address associated with your Paypal account.

ANY EMAIL FROM PAYPAL WILL

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS

HAVE YOUR FULL NAME (FIRST & LAST) AS THE ADDRESSEE!!!!

***************************

O.K. now you have the basics & the understanding of what to look for in any email you get in your inbox you also nned to know that even the experienced eBayer can be fooled now-a-days.

YOU REALLY HAVE TO KEEP YOUR SENSES ABOUT ANY EMAIL THAT YOU GET IN YOUR INBOX!

REMEMBER THE BASICS!

Remember what to look for; YOUR REAL FULL NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS.

****************************

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN FAKES/SPOOF EMAILS:

NOT YOUR REAL FULL NAME AS THE ADDRESSEE, #1.

THEY ADD LINKS THAT WHEN YOU CLICK THEM (DO NOT CLICK ANY OF THESE LINKS OR ANY THAT YOU MAY GET IN YOUR EMAIL!!!!!!!!) WHEN YOU CLICK THESE LINKS IT WILL TAKE YOU TO A PAGE THAT LOOKS [EXACTLY] LIKE eBay's LOGIN PAGE & IT ASKS YOU TO LOG IN... THIS IS HOW THEY GET YOUR PASSWORD!!!

THEY EVEN ADD THE LITTLE FINE PRINT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE TO MAKE IT LOOK AUTHENTIC!

I HAVE EVEN GOTTEN SOME THAT USE THE YELLOW COLORS ON EMAILS THAT eBay USES!

PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY SPOOF/FAKE EMAILS...

REMEMBER THE MAIN THINGS TO LOOK FOR...

YOUR NAME, YOUR WHOLE FULL NAME!!!
