The predecessor of American Ceramic Products was Cecil Jones of La Mirada Potteries. Jones was a talented and accomplished English ceramist with extensive experience working for potteries in the UK, as well as in the USA.

He was affiliated with Claycraft Potteries in Los Angeles prior to founding La Mirada in 1935.
The La Mirada Potteries began operations at 3221 San Fernando Road in Los Angeles, where about a year earlier the Robertson Potteries had been in operation.
Jones's Company produced a pioneering line of Chinese Modern Style Housewares consisting of low bowls, vases, wall pockets, figurines, and planters.
His oriental designs were complimented by a series of brightly colored, transparent crackle glazes that were perfected by George Robertson of the Robertson Potteries.
The La Mirada business was purchased by Thomas F. Hamilton in 1939 and renamed American Ceramic Products ending the La Mirada run of products...
