Well Google has finally done what I feel is the best thing for the general searching public and also the SEO Pro and the Webmaster. This is how it appears to be shaking out.

Lets talk about an IDEAL site.

First it should be a year or 2 old at least. Not have any violations such as spamming the search engines or email spamming. Just have been sitting there on its good behavior.

The next thing is that it should have some pages that are indexed and a page rank of at least 1.

This makes it an ideal site to start enhancing for the search engines.

Next we want to come up with 2 phrases to use as the primary phrases on the site and also to use for anchor text for our links. Once we have these 2 phrases we want to go to Word Tracker (http://our.affiliatetracking.net/wordtracker/a/17568/) and take the free trial.

Also I have just started using a new service to me that is similar to word tracker but seems to have a lot more data. It is at: Keyword Research Tool from KeywordDiscovery (http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/?id=302756) Now we type in each phrase and copy the associated phrases for each. We now create 2 primary pages on our site using the 2 primary phrases as titles and optimize the pages using the associated words.

Remember on-page optimization is back. Not in the same way as a few years ago but back in its own special way. It appears that WORD ASSOCIATION has made a reappearance. So you come up with your KEY PHRASE and then the search algorithm will look at your page for words and phrases associated with that phrase. If they are there in the correct proportions then you will appear high in the rankings.

We want a well rounded site so we create at least 20 pages or so on the site with completely ORIGINAL content.

OK, so now we sit with a very optimized site, that is in good standing with the search engines. The site does have one GREAT and AMAZING feature. It all NEW content. Search Engines LOVE new content. There is a catch 22 here. Search Engines also love sites that have a lot of links to them. I wont get into links too heavily today because we all know, or should know about links.

But the catch 22 is this. If a site has great new content but nobody can see it in the search engines then how does anyone know to link to it. Well.... this in my humble opinion is why sites appear high initially in the results and then in 90 days wind up in the SANDBOX or supplemental results of a search engine.

I believe that there is a window of time that the engines rely solely on on-page optimization, if proper links develop then it retains its standing if they don't then it is dumped from the main results.

Ok, I am digressing a bit here... so we have this good site what can we do to get it listed high and keep it there.

Our next step is to make sure every page is W3C compliant. There is more information about this at http://www.w3.org/

Next we want to create site maps for the site and link them from the main page. We will want a site map in all the following formats:

1. XML
2. HTML
3. TXT
4. RSS
5. ASP

A good site map creator I use is the A1 Sitemap Generator available for free download at: http://www.micro-sys.dk/products/sitemap-generator/ It is well worth the 40 bucks but they do give a 30 day free evaluation.

Next we want to register the site with Google and yahoo and use the verify option. You can do that at: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ and at: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ We will also want to just register at MSN search at: http://beta.search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx?FORM=WSUT

After the site is verified by Yahoo and Google you will want to enter your sitemaps at the same link. It is also a good idea to enter your xml site map at MSN too.

Next after our sitemap's are approved without error, we need some fast links. I start with about 25 low rank links at http://www.free-text-links.com. Yes I know, a shameless plug for my own site but they are well indexed and will get your linking started. Make sure you use your Anchor text as we discussed earlier. Also in your site description use the associated key phrases.

After that you will want to think about going with 2 of my 200 links packages only 39.95 a year please check out my store, the link is below, for details. One for each set of anchor text.

Ok now you are ready. At this point you will want to watch the search results for your site to start showing up in the results. If you are not on the first 3 pages of results you need to do some work on your on-page optimization. If you are then its time to develop some high quality links. I can help you with this or you can do it on your own. Try and stick with pr2 to pr4 links first until you get to about 150 of them. Then concentrate on pr4 and above.
