Welcome to my latest guide to help identify and search for COLORFUL AND EXCITING HIGH QUALITY RESIN PLASTIC JEWELRY.

I am Hillary, known here on ebay as a_hill_thrill, your friendly, helpful and I HOPE your favorite seller of wonderful Plastic Jewelry and more, here on ebay. Like I ALWAYS SAY, A THRILL FOR ME, IS A THRILL FOR YOU. Either way, I am thrilled when buying, or I have something thrilling for you to purchase each week. I love and sell my Vintage Bakelite, Lucite, and MODERN RESIN PLASTICS every week here on eBay! I offer ALL plastics on ebay each week, something from every part of my collections, I can do this because I collect and love ALL plastics without discriminating. Sadly for my budget, I don't limit myself. I SHOULD really start, but I won't, as I am having too much fun playing in plastic, sitting here wearing 3 bangles on each arm as I write this guide for the similarly obsessive, and if there is any doubt as now everyone seems to have a collection when they're selling, MY collections really DO exist. I'll be sharing a few pictures of some favorites with this guide.

My collections are truly my whole world, my hobby, my business, and my joy in life besides my wonderful family of course, but plastics are a close second!
Until I do the book thing as many of you have suggested, I am here today to write a helpful guide for you strictly for your benefit here on ebay absolutely free of charge! What could be better, well, FREE PLASTICS, well YES, I do that often for my top customers, I love to treat my customers like treasures, and DO give gifts to my top buyers! Try me and SEE!! Anyway, I will share my knowledge again, as I have been so thrilled how so many of you write to me regularly about how much you have been helped by my #1 guide: A Hill Thrill Guide How To Test For Bakelite Plastic, only now, I will teach you everything I know and love about fabulous RESIN PLASTIC, in a general service to all of us buying and selling these wonderful items. So now may I introduce....

MY FAVORITE: BEAUTIFUL RESIN PLASTIC JEWELRY

These will be the words to look for when you want GORGEOUS COLORS, DESIGNS, HEAVY SOLID WEIGHT, SEAMLESS HIGH QUALITY, colorful, exciting, bold and unique TOP OF THE LINE PLASTIC JEWELRY that will get you noticed!

You haven't felt an amazing bangle that is affordable until you've tried Resin Plastics!

I adore my Resin Plastics best, and they make my world such a happy place full of color and beauty I can take with me everywhere my two arms can wear them.  When you've gone as far as you can collecting vintage bakelite, and there is nothing new to aspire to collect in that arena, something different is definitely a breath of fresh plastic! Speaking of which, I for one, am quite confident that my personal vast vintage bakelite collections, surely do rival any ardent collector of the old out there, yet I definitely prefer Resin Plastic items these days hands down.  I don't fret about chipping them, having them oxidize, or turning my arms yellow or maybe have my skin absorb carcinogenic chemicals.  As many of my wonderful customers have shown me, you're with me in this arena of collecting when I see you here every week for more and more!

I will take a moment here to share some of my prized Vintage Bakelite pieces too, as I DO know and respect the beauty and value of vintage bakelite OF COURSE, and have offered and will continue to offer many amazing pieces of it to my terrific appreciative customers each week because I began collecting mostly vintage, then branched out as my tastes changed, as often happens.  Therefore, a very impressive important collection of my OLD VINTAGE BAKELITE goes along with the rest of my collections of plastics. For example, my personal vintage bakelite collection includes several deco classics from the 1930s as seen here. A few of my many prized End of Day marbles, a cream corn and paprika zigzag, a slanted philly stripe laminated, A RARE FACELESS PIERROT, and a sought after classic Black and Yellow. All fabulous you must agree, but please don't deny yourself and never close your eyes or cross your arms to amazing, bold, colorful, high quality, awesome...

RESIN PLASTIC!

I believe in ALL PLASTICS, and they all obsess me which should be obvious by now!  Therefore, I believe there is no reason to limit yourself to only yesterday's plastics, when today's plastics are so amazing, well made and special too! They are indeed, tomorrow's treasures.  Originally Vintage Bakelite was found in dime stores, now look what it's worth!  So by the same token,  these pieces we've been collecting together and loving so much for all this time, will be sought after tomorrow too.  Best of all,  these pieces never change their bold and bright colors which last forever. Our fabulous, fun, incredible, popular and collectible modern, glitzy, gorgeous, super weighty seamless and high quality plastic bangle bracelets and other jewelry will live proudly in your collections for always. I am so glad you have loved and collected with me, and keep collecting each week here. I will proudly continue to bring you these top of the line, high quality plastic jewelry items with the same enthusiasm as you've come to expect when you buy from me each week.

Here are some of my favorite Confetti Polka Dot, Stripe and floating multi color RESIN PLASTIC Bangle Bracelets! These are somewhat different than my other Resin style quality plastics. These are amazingly painstakingly put together pieces, they are uncommon to see, and very special.  I offer them at a very low auction starting price at no reserve, that is nowhere near their true value that allows everyone to have a chance to own some true masterpiece works of Plastic Art! Here are some other examples of my handmade Resin bangles I offer here on ebay.  How unique and gorgeous are these pieces, and who can resist these styles? When you feel them, they feel like vintage, hence the old name, however,  they were never meant to fool anyone, although some of them could because they really feel and look the part!

These plastics really have the feel and look of the older and vintage bangles, in better, bolder, bigger styles but they won't change color with time, and they don't contain the formaldehyde which was banned from use in the 1950s or prior, due to worries on health issues, and replaced with safer formulations of plastic, which is even better I think! Plastics of today are BETTER IN MANY WAYS, THAN EVER BEFORE! They'll look this great when you pass them down to your grandchildren, and be heirlooms to be treasured. They are hand laminated piece by piece, dots inlaid or hand injected and finished. Colors are vibrant and exciting. It's not just gorgeous now, it will still be gorgeous in 50 years from now, and just as valuable in my consideration. The wearable plastic art you collect today, will have high value in the future, and anyone who doesn't believe that, will lose out on owning some masterpieces, all are limited in quantity as well! There are some people putting their names to these bangles and hanging a high price tag on them, but you will always find them affordably here. These pieces in Resin Plastic, are always seamless, always very heavy, have a smell when heated usually, unlike Lucite and other non-bakelite plastics, and are put together by hand, not machine, and are the most exclusive items I offer here on ebay. You will be hard pressed to find them all over the place. How will you know if you're getting the quality I am talking about? If you are buying here, you already know the answer, but if not...

KNOW YOUR SELLER AND THEIR AREA OF EXPERTISE

Although I always stand behind every piece I sell, and I truly believe in my items as the incredible collectible pieces of art that they are, I cannot guarantee this quality to hold true for anyone but me, and I can only speak for myself.  From my feedback, one can see, everyone has been thrilled! My contention is that since there are quite a few differing wonderful heavyweight plastics out there, you should absolutely try them all!  Knowing me as a seller as many of you do, and know my reputation here,  how involved I am in this area, and how I love it,  will help you make informed choices about what you can expect to receive when you buy from someone you know and trust. For example: Is the seller selling one type of plastic, or a wide variety? Are they dabbling, or is this their main business? DO they LOVE and collect this stuff, and show that they believe in the product? For some it's a business, and that's fine and understood, but do they really KNOW what they're talking about? I see so much misrepresented plastic here, it's astounding. So tread carefully! It's an important factor when you're making a decision who to purchase from, be sure to choose wisely!

WHAT IS RESIN?

ALL KINDS OF PLASTICS ARE SOME SORT OF A RESIN MATERIAL! Plastics are Resins AND Resins are different chemical compounds that form different types of Plastics.  If everyone and anyone in particular wants to get technical, that's the truth. Firstly, VINTAGE BAKELITE itself, is a well known PHENOLIC FORMALDEHYDE CONTAINING RESIN, and quite the valuable one as we well know. While LUCITE is another vintage and still currently made kind of resillient Plastic Resin too minus the FORMALDEHYDE, replacing Bakelite largely by the 1950s, as the Formaldehyde in Bakelite was banned from use, for being dangerous when it was found to be toxic. There are Polymers, Crystalline, Acrylics, Epoxy, and even natural AMBER too is a Resin! The list is endless. As a rule of thumb, Thermosetting Plastic Resins like Bakelite, harden and cannot be remelted or reformed, they can only be carved or laminated in solid hardened form, while Thermoplastic Resin can be remelted into a new object entirely, or several pieces can be re-heated, melted and blended to make something new. There are artists who use beautiful Resins to create fascinating multi-element and multi-colored designs with termed "Recycled Resin" which you may have seen by Brazillian artist Sobral for example. Therefore, as you can see, RESIN IS AWESOME STUFF!  To get a great idea of which kind of plastic really thrills you the most....

SAMPLE THE GREAT PLASTIC SMORGASBOARD!

Since there are so many variables in plastic, this brings me to the different variables of this type plastic! Once again, like my other Resin, it's quite similar, yet another kind of very high quality plastic, with a somewhat different surface texture, usually slicker and shinier on the surface, with a very substantial good solid weight, as heavy as the others, and sometimes even heavier, and of course, no seams once again. Often the plastic has a strong smell, but different from vintage bakelite of course, and other Resin plastics, and again doesn't test with Simichrome or 409. The difference here, is that most of the work is injected for example, and the colors and styles are amazingly endless when it comes to dots and striped designs, checkerboards, glitters, embedded elements and more, although for the stripes, sometimes I feel them, so it may still have some lamination. These pieces have a glitzy wild appeal with a greater variety of stylings. Here I will show an example of a popular designed Asymetrical shape. I have this bangle in this shape, in every color, and design you can imagine. I have offered any I have enough of in duplicate till they're all gone, but, some I have only one example of that I just can't let go of, which is my downfall as a seller, I keep way too much of my merchandise, but how can I not want these works of art? This bangle bracelet will be seen in a greater variety of colors, marbles and designs of opaque or transparent, for example, take a look at the following pictures. Here is an end of day marbled in the same shape as the last one in amazing multi color change glitter. Beautiful pieces, molding in a similar style, in differing colors. These are a good example of a well known design in a more common style Resin bangle bracelet you will see frequently. This is the same shape as the one before in the most stunning glitter I've ever seen, it changes COLOR, and is dichroic orange and pink to green and blue pictured above. These bangle bracelets to my knowledge are machine made instead of by hand, they have a DIFFERENT smell when heated than the other hand made Resin Plastic does, obviously a different feel and was made with different chemicals and other elements, but as I said, the designs are endless, shapes and styles unique, and I consider them JUST AS WONDERFUL as my handmade Resin Plastic bangles, and so I price them on the same scale whenever I can, always affordable starting prices, with no reserves, so almost anyone can enjoy adding them to their collections. I believe in giving a great deal so you won't see the same thing forever on my listings, because I won't sit on it forever trying to get some outlandish price, when I can give you a better deal, and more styles to choose from every week, a truly amazing assortment of colors, and array of shapes and sizes. When you want variety and unique designs galore, I am here with all the exciting Resin Plastic bangles you can wish for. The designs are very advanced and complicated with multiple elements in the look, as is above, and you don't see where they come together, they just flow. In some cases they get so complex, as this rainbow jello, one of my most popular pieces I've ever offered. Although the molding is often with some odd manufacture imperfections as shown here, everyone has loved this bangle, I have 5 just for me to stack, and when I do, everyone wants me to sell them one!

Here is an incredible example of how these gorgeous Resin Plastics give you a classic that to me, is every bit as exciting as the original Random Injected Bowtie Gum Drop dot bangles of the 1930s deco era. Only this one will not yellow in time, it will be black and white forever. This feels fabulous and heavy, solid and seamless, and it's super sexy on, and best of all it will only cost you a few modest dollars if you win at my opening bid price, not because it's not worth alot more in my opinion! It is a fabulous bargain for the look as opposed to $3000 for a real genuine old bakelite one, of course a dream piece to the discerning collector but, not everyone can afford the old, so why not enjoy one like this? I DO, and way more than one...of course!

When a bangle bracelet or other piece of plastic jewelry is a great quality plastic that is a bit lighter than your solid heavy vintage bakelite, or Resin Plastic...

HEEEEERRRRRE'S LUCITE!

Lucite gets mention here, because it the other popular long running quality plastic that has been with us over 50 years now. While it's not as heavy weight as Vintage Bakelite, not having a bakelite feel like the heavy Resin Plastics in general, it's usually seamless, but some vintage and the more recent Lucite can have very light seams. Here is a great example of Transparent Jello Striped Lucite that I personally collect, Like this one I have in every color it came in, wide, narrow and saucer designs were made which I own proudly. A seamless rich nice feeling solid classic from Best Plastics, a closed Factory in Rhode Island that manufactured great Lucite Jewelry through the 1950s and 1960s. I've seen several sellers call this jello stripe as bakelite, insisting it tests, and of course, they seem to not be questioned. I can't tell you how many times I've seen it, and it's been too often considering this is clearly, no pun intended, vintage Lucite.

Lucite was sometimes given as a gift premium with purchase of a product, like this great Estee Lauder premium Pink jello Lucite bangle, seamless, heavy, fabulous, a very high quality piece of Lucite that is one of those pieces that almost fall into Resin Plastic category. Sometimes it is hard for me to classify the plastic when it is somewhat ambiguous like this with the great weight it has. Even to discerning eyes, and hands like mine that have been thrilled to hold thousands of pieces of plastic by now, I get confused with whether to classify them as Lucite, or Resin Plastic, but knowing the history of the bangle helps me to know for sure, in this case, it's Lucite in it's finest form.

SO TO ALL MY FELLOW COLLECTORS, CONTINUE TO ENJOY YOUR VINTAGE BAKELITE, RESIN PLASTIC,  LUCITE, CELLULOID, AND MORE!
