Blackberry pearl unlocked, A Guide to the Blackberry Pearl

The blackberry is the latest in a long line of sleek cool PDA phones from RIM. The phone was released for T-Mobile in the US on September 12th of this year. No rumors to date whether it will be released for the other major carriers anytime soon.

Here are some specs for the Blackberry Pearl:
* 240 x 260 65k color display
* 1.3 megapixel camera with flash
* 64MB flash and microSD
* Media playback with MP3, AAC, MPEG-4 (h.263)
* Trackball (i.e. the pearl in Pearl)
* Bluetooth 2.0
* SureType keyboard
* quad-band GSM / EDGE
* 4.2 x 2.0 x 0.57 inches (107 x 50 x 14.5mm)
* 3.1 ounces
This is the first time blackberry has released a phone so small. The keypad makes use of dual function keys which makes typing a bit more difficult especially if you're used to having a single key dedicated to a single function. Like anything however, once you use it for a couple of months, you'll get used to it.
There is no easy kit or way to unlock your Blackberry Pearl quite yet. Your best bet is to go to your local authorized reseller and ask if they know anyone that can help you out. I've seen a couple places on the internet that over unlocking, but I haven't tried them yet. In any event, there's no guarantee that push e-mail would work if you unlocked your phone and chose to use another cell phone company as your data provider.
