A Guide to the 2006 Honda Civic SI Coupe
The Best Civic EVER.
This is the first upgrade to the Honda Civic SI in over 3 years. They boosted the horsepower from a measly 160 to 197 screaming ponies. They didnt make the engine any bigger it still contains a great sounding 2 litre engine. However the body style has changed dramtically. See the old Civic below
The look of the old model did not sit well with customers and Honda was forced to go back to the drawing board and rethink what the SI should mean to consumers. The new Civic SI coupe comes with 17 inch rims, a 6 speed manual transmission (previous version was only a 5 speed), Brimbo brakes and a trunk spoiler all standard.
The engine on the new Honda Civic SI Coupe redlines at an amazing 8500 rpms. This baby purs like a kitten. But what about the cockpit, how does it look and feel. Well due to the extreme rake of the windshield, the dash is HUGE. The new Civic probably has the biggest dash I've ever seen, but it doesn't present any problems while in the car. Even with the acres of plastic real estate in front of me, I still found all my meters and stereo easily accessible. See the image below.

The stereo in this hot rod is a 7 speaker 350 watt system. It has a set of tweaters up front as well as mids in the doors. In the rear there are 2 mid speakers and one subwoofer placed directly behind the head of the poor sap riding in the middle. The Civic comes fully loaded around $20,000 and for an extra $1000 you can get it standard with Navigation. Please be aware these cars are in extremly high demand (sold out till June, dealers selling them for 5k over sticker!) I advise you to look on eBay for a great deal on one
