I have been waiting for two or three years for the LED bulbs to hit the market. I was sure they were the next generation; replacing the "pig tail" florescents being hyped now. I ordered one from a reputable eBay vendor in China and expected to order more as soon as I tried that one.
They are available in 24 LED's, 36, 48 or 60. I opted for the one with 60 LED's. What a disappointment when I found the output to be about the equivalent of a 15 watt incandecent bulb. I am using it as a night light in my shop and it is not bright enough to find the switch to turn on the overhead lights (which, by the way, is two feet above the switch. Oh well, I still think this is the technology of the future. They are just not there yet. At least it doesn't cost anything at all to leave it on 24/7.
Save your money and don't bid on these. Maybe in five years or so...........
