I am a seller here on ebay. I run auctions as well as having a little store. Periodicaly I have the urge to do some shopping thus putting me on the other end of the stick. I think this helps remind me of how important good customer service is and how you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Last night while hunting for fall clothes for my 3 year old I came across an auction. They were the cutest clothes and the bids were not to high. I would have loved to have them. But, the seller had a very BOLD policy of expecting payment with in 3 days or issuing negative feedback. I looked at the feedback she had left for others and sure enough "UNPROFESSIONAL NON-PAYING BIDDER" several times. One of the buyers returned and said that she was sorry, she was in the hospital with her baby. She, was sorry? This floored me. Few of those who she had given a negative had left her any feedback. Why? I asked myself. I would never let anyone give me a big red negative for no good reason and not warn others. That is what the feedback system is for. An honest evaluation of your experience. Not a reward and punishment system. Are we all stuck in grade school mentality? Let us remember this sellers. I have a funded PayPal account I could have paid imediately. But this lady left a nasty first impression with me and I would not buy from her if she had the last 3 toddler clothes on ebay. Also, ebay gives buyers 7 days to pay and sellers 10 days to ship. Like it or not.
