Do not buy any 2009 "Log Cabin" design Lincoln Cents at ebay. The United States mint has already minted 247 million of both Denver and Philadelphia Mints and the coins will slowly be released into circulation as the banks begin to order more change. It will be slow over the next few months, but it will happen, then you can get the cents at face value.

Also, the United States Mint will be selling these 2009 Lincoln Cent on their website in rolls and bags for much less than they are selling at ebay. You don't want to pay several dollars for a coin that will be left lying in your local Wal-Mart parking in the next few years.

Coin collectors, please be patient and wait until the coins become available at face or near face value, and don't let ebay sellers take advantage of the hype and present difficulty of obtaining this 2009 Lincoln Cent. You will not regret that you waited. If you don't then you can't complain when the roll you paid $20 or more for will only be worth 50 cents in the future.
