Fiesta Bowl
The Fiesta Bowl has been played since 1971 in Tempe, Arizona at ASU's Sun Devil Stadium.
In 1999, the Fiesta Bowl became part of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and every 4 years gets the honor of holding the NCAA Football National Championship game. In the 1999 title game, Tennessee (led by QB Tee Martin and WR Peerless Price) beat Florida State (who really didn't even deserve to be in the game - a typical BCS blunder) 23-16. In the most recent title game, in 2003, Ohio State won the national title 31-24 over Miami.
2006 Fiesta Bowl
This year present a compelling match-up of storied teams with Notre Dame taking on Ohio State. Notre Dame brings strengths on the offensive side of the ball with Heisman Trophy 4th place finisher QB Brady Quinn, RB Darius Walker and WR Jeff Samardzija. Unfortunately for ND, their defense has been a little soft this year, giving up big points to the likes of Michigan St. It's going to be tough for the ND defense to hold the Buckeyes, so turnovers and alot of points will be key for ND. Ohio State's defense (led by All-American AJ Hawk) also matches up pretty well with the Irish offense, so the edge appears to be with Ohio State. I see a close game here with the Irish pulling off a mild upset thanks to a big day from Brady Quinn.

Fiesta Bowl Tickets
Demand for this year's game is immense, with Notre Dame alone receiving over 45,000 ticket requests. Fewer than 15,000 tickets are actually available for Notre Dame students, alumni, players families, faculty and staff. Match-ups as good as this certainly don't happen every Bowl season, so this will be a tough ticket to score. Both teams are looking for top5 finishes in the final polls, and NFL quality talent will be on display. Fortunately, there are a wide selection of tickets listed on eBay Tickets for this game.
