Anyone a fan of vintage baseball players? Upper Deck Baseball Heroes from 2005 is one of my very favorite baseball sets!!!
Containing 40 subsets of players broken into 5 cards per player, each player contains a header card and the other 4 are cards from the player's career. The design of the card is classic Baseball Heroes like the cards put out from Upper Deck as inserts through the years.
Parallels include Emerald (#d/199), Red (#d/75), Blue (#d/10) plus other colors down to 1/1's. There are autographs for each card in the set and also jersey swatches. If you are truly lucky, you may pull a cut signature (I pulled a Mize #d/10) or a patch/autograph (Gwynn for me).
Player selection includes Mantle, Berra, diMaggio, Sandberg, Clark, Bonds, Ripken, Yount, Molitor, Wagner, Hornsby, Musial, and Kaline plus more. Check it out!! They are great additions to any collection-- especially player collectors out there!! A tin runs around $35-$40 and will have at least one jersey/autograph plus a numbered card. The tins themselves are quite cool-- with great artwork of a famous player (Williams, Ruth, etc) on a metal tin.
Hope you enjoyed this guide!! Please e-mail if you have questions!
