I own a 2000 Ford F150 Lariat supercab 4 door, with a 5.4L engine. I use it in my service and delivery business. I go to several businesses and perform a service for them. I usually go to 10-15 stops. This means I start it about 20-30 times a day!! I am on the origional, un-touched engine and transmission. I have never replaced the starter even though I start it so many times a day!! I have never had any major repairs to this truck. The most ever, was 2 coil packs on the spark plug wires. Just replaced those and truck good as new. Still has plenty of power, and feel confident it will go for many more miles. (Which is unfortunate for me as I really want a new truck!!) Wife says if this one still runs good dont even think about it!! She is right as I put so many miles on a new truck that they are worthless in about 2 years. So if you need really reliable, and tough truck, I think the 2000 F150 is for you!! I would only recommend the 5.4L engine and not the 4.6L. I have friends who have trouble with the smaller 4.6L. They get same gas mileage, but 5.4L has much more power and overall more reliable!!! Ford trucks have no competition in my view, and I will never see a need to buy import as these Ford Trucks are just better!! (And the money you spend for one stays in OUR country, and doesnt go to countrys who hates us!!)

 Dont fall for that "Import cars and trucks are made in America" (Bravo Ciera!!) Those trucks are only assembled here to avoid paying our country's taxes, and import fees. There is not one penny of profit of that truck or car that stays with American companies but for the small wages the assembly workers make and some support companies that might supply some of the assembers needs. All profits go straight out of our country to benefit some other country which is bad for trade deficit and to our country in general!!  (No I am not a member of any UAW union, have no family members that work for any US automaker, nor am I a stockholder of any US automaker.) I just know by experience that you dont need import truck to have superior quality and reliable service out of your truck!! If you buy import truck then dont scream at our President because you dont have a daggone job, or complain country's economy stinks---just go look in mirror to see who's fault it is!!

Remember when all of the Television sets were made in America?? Ohhh but those foreign TV's were just a bit cheaper and probably better werent they?  Try to buy an American TV now....there isnt one!!!....all foreign!! Same with every other thing America used to manufacture....Americans quit buying American products!! Now we undertand why we dont have any manufacturing jobs for our kids. We sent our money overseas so that other countries kids could have American kids jobs!!!
