The 20 Worst Customers a Restaurant Employee Can Encounter

Just for fun I've decided to compile my list 20 worst customers a server can encounter. Nobody is perfect, and some people will have a few of these traits, but if you have more than one or two, you might be your local restaurants worst nightmare.

1. The Cuss Meister - Swears while entering the building, ordering, conversing with friends, and even swears while saying thank you.

2. The No Thank You - Never, ever says please or thank you to anybody around him/her.

3. The Loud Mouth - Hoots, Hollers, Yells, and Laughs as loud as possible, not taking other peoples comfort zones into consideration.

4. The Family Restaurant Drunk - Whether the establishment serves alcohol or not, this person is loud, drunk, and obnoxious all night long.

5. The Mess - Whether it's a mess the kids made or a mess you made yourself, this person will never clean up after themselves.

6. The Tray Leaver (Frequent at fast food restaurants) - This customer always leaves their tray in the middle of a 4-person table, even though the garbage can is on their way out of the building.

7. The Long Orderer (Another Fast-Food Frequenter) - This customer takes 45 minutes to order 2 meals and a dessert. They ask 100 questions, say umm 37,000 times, and hold up other hungry customers.

8. The Inconsiderate Jerk - This customer won't hold doors, help people who've dropped items, wipe their dirty feet, or even move out of the way of somebody who's rushing to the bathroom. This customer is one of the worst.

9. The Change Payer - This customer pays for a $47.00 meal with quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. If you've ever been behind one of these people you know how frustrating it is.

10. The Creep - This person stares, talks, and invades the private space of every single customer that enters the building. Every restaurant has one of these. If you've never seen them, you're probably it.

11. The Cheapskate - This isn't a shot at anybody who can't afford to eat out all the time, or to people who only buy the item that's on special, I do it, it saves money, and it gets more people into the restaurant. This is for the people who raise a huge fuss over the smallest mistake in their 75-cent Cheeseburger. You paid 75 cents, you don't have a right to yell and scream that it had too much mustard.

12. The Frequent Complainer - This customer finds something to complain about every single time they walk through the door, and they usually do it in a condescending manner.

13. The 7/8 Finished Returnee - This customer eats 7/8 of their meal and then asks for a new one because it wasn't made properly. If you're like this I'd keep a watchful eye over my shoulder every time you leave the restaurant, trust me, you are one of the least liked people in that restaurant. And staff never forgets!!!

14. The Scammer - Nobody likes to be scammed. If you're scammer, you deserve whatever treatment you receive.

15. The I'm Better Than You Are - One of the worst customers you can deal with, especially if the person is a former friend. Sometimes you're dealt a bad hand, if you're the kind of customer who rubs your superior job or nicer car in a restaurant employees face, you might as well kiss that paint job goodbye, it'll catch up to you someday.

16. Mr/Mrs. Hands - Keep the touching to a minimum, nothing is creepier than having a customer hold your hand for 10 seconds after you give them their change.

17. Mr/Mrs. Head Office Threat - Whether the floors are dirty, the cheeseburger has onions on it, or the bathroom had a tissue on the floor, this customers solution is to threaten to call head office, every time!

18. The Teenage Group - Each group has a Creep, a Loud Mouth, a Cuss Meister, an Inconsiderate Jerk, and they usually add up to One Big MESS!

19. The Quiet Talker - Not a bad person, just incredibly hard to get their order right, not even Superman can hear what these people are saying.

20. The Fighting Family - These customers are the worst to deal with. They're grumpy before they get to the restaurant, they fight while in line, the kid's are uncontrollable, they cut each other off while ordering, they usually complain about service, and they never, ever clean up after themselves.

I hope this list hasn't offended anybody, it's just my way of letting everybody know how tough it is dealing with customers.

I hope you've enjoyed my list, IF YOU FOUND THIS GUIDE HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. And please don't hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, or customers that I've left off this list.

Thank you,
