If you are in the market for a rather collectible car, this may be of interest to you. I am talking about a 1984 Nissan 300zx Anniversary Edition with turbo. Being the flagship for the new body style, these cars were beautiful off the assembly line, at least all 5000 or so made specifically for the United States. There were also 1000+ made for Canada which had even more appeal for their special #of1000+ emblem in the glove box of these models. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact # made for Canada. The number of these cars made for the U.S. is kind of vague, from the information on the internet. However I am quite sure the number isn't getting larger.

These cars all came with a metallic silver over black, separated by a triple gold pinstripe, and gold lettring that said TURBO below each door, and the 50th logo emblem behind the front tires on each fender.  The Anniversary 300zx came with perhaps the longest list of factory components, in fact the only option the buyer had, was manual or automatic. They came with an electronic instument display, which showed oil psi, voltage, temp, speed, torque band, rpm, trip odometers, and fuel displays. there were also two other gauges in the dashboard one displaying G's in positive and negative with a mpg gauge in it, and a digital compass with an arrow pointing you in the right direction. It also came with a little spoiler on the rear sporting the Nissan name.

The am/fm cassette stereo had a nifty little function, called the body sonic. There were two amplifiers, one under each seat, and two controls for those amps between the seats. What these did was allow you to "feel" the music through the eight small bass speakers built into the seats. The seats were beautiful, wrapped in leather, embroidered with the 50th anniversary logo high on the back rest. They also had air bladders for adjusting lumbar, thighs, and pretty much wrapping you into the seat. And if I didn't mention it, the entire interior was shiny black, with some woodgrain trim. And for that sporty feel while driving, you had adjustments for firm, normal, and soft suspension settings.

It also had custom floor mats, also embroidered with the Anniversary Edition (A.E.) Logo. The logo was a number 50 wrapped in a wreath like the cadillacs. It had all the bells and whistles,  cruise, auto door locks, power antenna, power windows, power mirrors, power steering, mirror defog, rear window defog,  steering wheel controls for cruise and radio functions, factory alarm system, air conditioning with auto climate control, intermittent wipers, rear wiper, and a voice warning system with a nice womans voice telling you your door is open, or you left your lights on, and such things like that.

It's a good thing this car came with 4 wheel disc brakes, because the engine was a V-6, 3.0 litre, Over head Camshaft, Turbo charged beast, backed by a T-5 transmission, the same one used in Mustangs! This engine and trans would set the 16" A.E. custom rims with gold highlights, to burning up the 225/55/ZR16 Pirelli's. You could enjoy all that smoke you were making by taking off the custom mirror tinted t-tops and letting your hair fly! And when you were done for the day you could make sure to protect your baby with the custom car cover which also displayed the 50th logo. Then you would go inside and hang your golden keys, (also bearing the logo) on your key rack, and kick your feet up on the couch and finish dreaming about the next drive you were going to take!
