Unique Marriage Proposal Idea's for the Creatively Challenged

You've met that special "someone" and you are about to ask that special person for their hand in marriage but want to do it in a creative way so that the big even will be remembered for the rest of your lives. Usually it's a man who does the proposing, and oftentimes he is left feeling confused as to how he will ask for her hand in marriage... afterall, to a romantic woman's heart a proposal of marriage is one person's story of a lifetime.

Here are some rather unique and romantic idea's on how to pop the big question and leave that person with the ultimate memory of a lifetime... and with a story that will be talked about to the most important people in your lives including all your future children and even grandchildren.

1. Recreate your first date or the first time you ever met. Take your future fiance to the place you first met, but ahead of time place rose petals on the ground, have a bunch of lit candles ready, and perhaps even some romantic music. Upon arrival your setting is ready for the big question, and the very first place you met or the place of your first date is a great way to start the second part of your life journey together... afterall, the first part of that journey began at that spot, so why not the second? It's a tohughtful way to show the person you love that you haven't forgotten the spot where it all began.

2. Have a game night and invite over your closest friends and/or family. Play a game of Trival Pursuit and when it's your turn to read a question for your intended use that opportunity to ask them the all important question: Will you marry me? To add a dose of humor you can list all possible answers as such: A) Absolutely! I thought you'd never ask! B) My answer is no. C) Can you repeat the question?  I would have to say that the shock when your future fiance hears the question will be priceless!

3. Buy some glow in the dark stars (from places like Walmart or Spencers) and write out "Will you marry me" on the ceiling above their bed. Then when they go to bed have the ring ready and wait for that person to notice... and accept your proposal.

4. Stage a mock arrest. This will take some planning but boy is it ever creative and memorable. When your intended calls from jail saying they've been arrested show up to the cell and say that the police will only allow their release under one condition: If they marry you.

5. Order a custom (and normal looking chinese fortune cookie online with your proposal as the message on the fortune. Then one night order chinese for dinner and replace your intended's fortune cookie with your custom fortune cookie. Then act normal and open your cookies as normal. when your intended reads the message (fortune) "Will you marry me" wait for your answer of "YES!"

6. This idea will also take a little bit of planning but talk with the computer IT person at your intended's job. There are ways for IT professionals to monitor employees computers. There is a way to use Notepad to make a message pop up on a user's computer screen while they are working. You can have this done with the message of: " Will you marry me? Love (your name)"  Then show up at that person's desk with some roses and your ring!

7. Take the engagement ring and tie a string to it... long enough to stretch and attach to your finger. Take her hand, give her the ring and say: "I have a present for your but there's a string attached" (and that string, of course, is YOU!) then ask her to marry you.

8. If you are invited to a wedding, why not take that most romantic opportunity (at least expected) to ask that person to marry you. Wait until the reception when the customary toasts are being given to the bride and groom. Stand up and raise your glass and give your toast to your intended... it will be most unexpected and OH so romantic!

9. Message in a Bottle: Find a bottle, place your proposal on a sheet of paper inside and hide it on the beach somewhere. Then take your intended for a walk along the beach and lead her towards the bottle. Hopefully she'll notice it on her own but if not point towards it. When she picks up the bottle and see's there's a message inside.. well, you know the rest!
