Why sell eBooks?  Well, first of all, since they are delivered electronically, you don't need to pay shipping costs or run to the post office to mail them.  All you need to do is send your customers the download link.  They can be read right on their pcs.  All they need is winzip, adobe reader, and maybe Microsoft Word.

Also, you can sell eBooks on a wide variety of subjects.  I have 20 different topics of eBooks in my eBay store.  Many eBooks are fairly reasonably priced, so you don't have to spend a ton of money to download them.  Most of them come with resale rights as well, though you need to be careful, as there are laws that must be obeyed regarding copyrights  So make sure whomever you buy from has the resale rights to them before you buy them.  You can go to such sites as copyrights.gov to find who copyright owners are.

One good way to sell eBooks, is to write your own.  That way, you know you own the rights to them.  Write eBooks on things you know.  For example, if you are an avid gardener, try writing an eBook on how to care for plants and flowers.  Do some research and see what you can come up with.

Once you have your eBooks, there are some other things you will need before you get started.  You will need an eBay account to sell your eBooks on eBay, a pop3 email account, eBay turbo lister, eBay selling manager, a PayPal account, and a Square Trade account.  You might also want to have some webspace and a domain name.

In choosing a title for your eBooks, make sure you use keywords so that they can be found more easily in search engines.  For example, if you have an eBook about hypnosis, you don't want to just call it Hypnosis.  Call it something like Hypnosis: Secrets Revealed.  The Ultimate Guide eBook.  This contains keywords that stand out, and your customers will be able to find it.  Try researching other eBay sellers and seeing what keywords they use.  Make sure you use as many of the characters allowed in your title as possible.

There are some good tips to use when listing your eBooks.  First, the day and time you start and end your listing is extremely important.  About 80% of sales occur toward the end of your listings.  Most people work from 9-5, so the best time to end a listing is between 7-11pm.  It's also not a good idea to end your listings between 6-10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, because many people are out during this time. Weekend afternoons, especially Sunday afternoons are good times to end auctions.  Also, use turbo lister to set up your listings, as it takes less time than to post many listings individually.  Try to spread out your start times for your auctions as well so that they are not all ending at the same time.

One way to get visitors into your store is to set up some of your auctions as penny auctions.  At first, you may only get .01 for some of your auctions, but you will gain more visitors to your store.

Another crucial thing to remember is to make sure you check the post worldwide checkbox in your listings.  This way your eBooks will be available worldwide, and you will have more potential customers.

It's best to relist unsuccessful items at least once as you will get your fees returned if it sells the second time around.  If it doesn't sell the second time, you will have to pay for both listings, in which case, you may want to change your  title or category.  If you get an eBook that doesn't sell, don't give up on it.  You can list it as store inventory, which only costs pennies per month and will fill your store.

To deliver your eBooks, it's best to set up automated delivery.  This way you don't need to spend countless hours emailing the links to your customers.  Simply list your eBooks as digital items, and list the url for the eBooks so that eBay can send them the link as soon as they pay.  No one will see the url in the listings.

Now to generate visitors to your store, make sure you provide a link to your store in EVERY auction.  Another way to generate visitors is through email.  Include a signature in your emails.  For example, Get 100s of eBooks for just $1.50 in my store.  Then include the link to your store.  Also use the auto invoice selling manager in or PayPal provides (do not use both), and mention you have more eBooks for sale in your store.    Also mention this in your emails to winning buyers.  Mention in your emails that you have a mailing list and ask buyers to sign up.  You could also offer your buyers a free eBook just for signing up.

If you are able, set up an autoresponder, such as thank you for contacting me, and I will respond soon.  Then include your signature.

Under NO circumstances should you spam past customers. It's illegal and can get you reported to your ISP and/or eBay.

If you remember these tips, I'm sure you can be successful with marketing and selling your eBooks on eBay.  I have a blast with it, and you can too.
