Getting traffic to your eBay Stores is crucial to your online success. Some of your eBay listings will show up in eBay Search depending on the competition for that item, the price of your item, and the keywords that use to name your item. There are some basic SEO Tricks that you can use which will help your page rank well within the external search engines such as Yahoo, Google, AOL, MSN, etc.

When you are listing your eBay item---there are a few important factors that you need to pay close attention to in order to get the most out of Search Engine Optimization, such as:

Your Listing Title

Be sure to include at least 1-3 important keywords or keyword phrases in your listing title. The title of your eBay auction is one factor that will determine how many people will see your listing.

Your eBay Listing's Item Description

Be sure to include at least 200 words of visible copy in your listing description, with the most important keyword phrases mentioned at the beginning and at the end. Remember to employ other content best practices, such as the frequent use of keywords where relevant and formatting (e.g., bolding, italic, and using capital letters on certain keywords and keyword phrases)

Keywords are words that describe exactly what you are selling, such as Brand Names and Model or Serial Numbers. Keywords are also vital to use in your Store Name, Website Name, and in your eBay user name.

Your Custom eBay Store Pages

Take advantage of using ALL of your custom store pages in your eBay store in order to
display your store policies and showcase items that you sell. Again, make sure that you use keywords in the content of ALL of your eBay store pages to drive traffic to your eBay store.

Write New Rich Keyword Content

Always write new content whenever possible by blogging on eBay, writing guides and reviews on eBay, posting in eBay forums, eBay chatrooms, and blogging about your items on MySpace. The more unique and new content that you write--the better of a chance that Search Engines will pick up on your content that you have written.

Naming Your Store Categories

Always select the best keywords when naming your store categories and sub-categories.

Updating Your eBay Keywords

Change and update your Search Engine Keywords in your eBay store. eBay creates general keywords
for your store pages--but it is a good idea to refresh these keywords every 2 to 3 months. Remember that Search Engines love new content that has been written. You can find your eBay Keywords when managing your eBay store under MARKETING TOOLS and SEARCH ENGINE KEYWORDS.

Create an eBay About Me Page

Take advantage of creating an ABOUT ME PAGE on eBay and have links to your store and/or items on it. Links are very important. Search Engines love URL Links. Swapping links with other eBay store owners and website owners are an exceptional idea as well! Put the links on your ABOUT ME PAGE only because outside of eBay links are prohibited, unless it is on your ABOUT ME PAGE. Also use the About Me page to provide visible content about your eBay store and your products which will help you as well.

Your eBay XML/RSS Feed

Turn on your xml/rss feed under Manage My Store. Also, make your eBay listings available to Search Engines and Shopping Comparison Sites.

Paid Keyword Ads On Major Search Engines

Paid Keyword Ads such as Google Ads (AdSence) is another exceptional way to bring in traffic and can easily pay for themselves as eBay will give you 75 % of your eBay Final Fee Values back to you by qualifying for the Store Referral Credit.

Below are a few more tips to help eBay sellers to increase their sales:

Your eBay Promotional Flyer

Make use of your promotional flyer to promote your items.

Your Store Newsletter

Create a Welcome Store Newsletter for new subscribers to your store newsletter and also create a second Newsletter for your current customers to encourage repeat sales.

Use A Tag Line

Always include a custom TAG LINE at the bottom of ALL of your emails that includes links to your eBay and/or website.

***Please note that it does take time for the Search Engine spiders to find and crawl your eBay Store and all of the content that you have written, so you may not see an immediate rise in your ranking but it will come.
